CERVICOGENIC HEADACHE

Cervicogenic headache is head pain originated from bony structures or soft tissues of the neck. The most likely sources of your neck headache are dysfunction of either your upper neck joints, neck muscles or nerves.

Signs and Symptoms of Cervicogenic Headache:

  • Headache radiating from the back to the front

  • Headache worsening with neck movement, sustained neck posture, or sleeping

  • Headache predominantly affecting one side of the head

  • Headache accompanied by neck and shoulder pain or stiffness

  • Possible presence of suboccipital neuralgia, characterised by sharp, shooting pain in the suboccipital region

Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) refers to neck pain and upper limb pain and numbness caused by compression of the neurovascular bundle by various structures in the area between the neck and axilla.

  • Numbness, pins and needles, or weakness in the arm and hand

  • Pain around the clavicle
